“Mouse” (2021) is a tense psychological thriller set in a world where science has learned to identify the psychopathy gene even before birth. But when a new wave of brutal murders strikes the country, it becomes clear that even knowledge does not guarantee safety. A young police officer, together with an experienced detective, begins a pursuit of a serial killer.
What is the series “Mouse” about?
The story begins with a horrifying past — a series of brutal murders that once left a deep mark on society.
Several years have passed. The world seems to have returned to normal, but the tension has never truly disappeared. Suddenly, a new wave of crimes emerges. An unknown serial killer acts coldly, methodically, and brutally, forcing people to live in fear once again.
At the center of the story is Jung Ba Reum, a young police officer played by Lee Seung Gi. He appears to be the embodiment of kindness: honest, open, and always willing to help. But he is the one who accidentally encounters the killer and finds himself at the center of the investigation. His path crosses with detective Go Moo Chi — a tough and principled investigator for whom this case is deeply personal.
Together with the experienced detective Go Moo Chi, he begins the pursuit of the criminal, but with every step the case becomes more complicated. New facts destroy what once seemed obvious, and the line between good and evil gradually disappears.
The series keeps you in suspense until the very last moments and leaves behind a heavy but honest question: what makes us human?
