The film “The Last Prometheus of Donbas” tells the story of people who, despite constant shelling, continue to work at the last operating thermal power plant in the free part of the Donetsk region – just ten kilometers from the front line. This is a story about light born in defiance of darkness.
When the plant starts up, and smoke rises above the horizon, Russian forces immediately open fire. History repeats itself: as in 1941, when the plant was evacuated eastward from Hitler’s Nazi troops, only this time the route leads in the opposite direction – away from imperial invaders from russia.
