“The Agency” is an American spy thriller from Paramount+, based on the acclaimed French series “The Bureau” (2015). The story follows CIA operative Martian (codename “Martian”), who returns to London after six years of deep-cover work, only to discover that his past won’t let him leave the dangerous world of espionage behind.
What is the series “The Agency” about?
In the first season, CIA agent Martian returns to London after spending six years undercover in Africa. His homecoming becomes complicated when he reunites with Samia, the woman he fell in love with during his previous mission, forcing him to question his loyalty to the Agency. As the CIA launches new covert operations and trains young recruits in the art of living under false identities, Martian is drawn ever deeper into a world of espionage where a single mistake can be fatal. The series also features Ukrainian actor Oleksandr Rudynskyi in one of its roles.
In the second season, Martian is called back into action when the CIA faces a new threat—a leak of classified information from its London station. While agents race to identify the mole, he undertakes dangerous missions in Sudan and Iran, all while continuing his search for Samia. As his personal quest becomes increasingly intertwined with his professional duties, Martian is forced to make choices that will determine not only the fate of those closest to him, but also the outcome of critical intelligence operations.
