"The Doctor by Vocation" is a Ukrainian series based on the story of Ohmatdyt's life during the first 50 days of the full-scale invasion. The series tells the story of a talented doctor who, amid a family crisis, decides to stay in Ukraine and work in a hospital during the war. Despite personal dramas and difficult conditions, she and her colleagues tirelessly save patients' lives. 

What is the series "The Doctor by Vocation" about? 

According to the plot, talented resuscitation doctor Marina Bondar finds herself on the verge of divorce from her husband and colleague, surgeon Andriy Bondar, due to his infidelity. Marina plans to accept a job offer in Poland and move her family there to start a new life. However, the next morning, she wakes up to the sound of explosions and decides to stay at her local hospital, which shifts to 24/7 operations and becomes a lifesaving fortress for many patients, both children and adults. Despite her exhaustion, family troubles, a shortage of medicines, and internal hospital issues, the medical staff remain professional and tirelessly save lives.
The new story on "1+1 Ukraine" is a tribute to Ukrainian doctors. Doctors from Ohmatdyt were involved in writing the script to ensure the medical cases were accurately depicted. A consultant was also present on set during the filming of medical scenes. After watching the first two episodes, doctors noted that the team accurately portrayed the realities of medical life. The series skillfully shows the professional challenges and the everyday lives of doctors outside the hospital.
