“The Invite” (2026) is a comedy about married couple Joe and Angela, whose marriage is going through a difficult period. Meeting their upstairs neighbors promises to be an ordinary dinner, but a few drinks and increasingly candid conversations quickly turn it into a test for their marriage.
What is the movie “The Invite” about?
At first glance, Joe and Angela have an ordinary family life, but behind their shared home and years together lies an ever-growing distance.
One evening, they accept an invitation from their new neighbors and come over for dinner, which initially seems completely ordinary. However, the hosts turn out to be remarkably open and have no hesitation talking about love, sex, and personal boundaries.
The conversation quickly becomes more and more candid. Uncomfortable questions force Joe and Angela to confront their own unresolved problems, while the flirting at the table gradually takes on an entirely different meaning. The neighbors encourage them to look at their relationship from an unexpected perspective, leaving the couple facing a choice they were not prepared for.
Now Joe and Angela are forced to talk about what they have hidden from each other for years: their dissatisfaction, fantasies, and the real reasons behind their growing distance. As the evening progresses, it becomes increasingly difficult to tell where curiosity ends and a dangerous game begins.
