“Backrooms” (2026) is a supernatural thriller inspired by the popular internet legend about an endless maze of abandoned rooms. After accidentally discovering a mysterious passage inside an abandoned store, Clark finds himself trapped in a place where the familiar laws of space and time no longer apply, and every step could lead him farther from any hope of escape.

What is the movie “Backrooms” about?

While exploring an abandoned store, Clark discovers a strange doorway leading into an endless maze of identical corridors and empty rooms. At first, curiosity outweighs caution as he tries to uncover the secrets of this mysterious place and understand why it exists. But the deeper he ventures, the more the line between reality and nightmare begins to disappear. The labyrinth seems to obey its own rules, constantly shifting its layout, twisting every path, and refusing to reveal an exit.

When Clark suddenly vanishes without a trace, psychotherapist Mary sets out to find him. She soon becomes trapped in the same terrifying world, where every turn hides a new danger and the labyrinth itself appears to lure people into its endless depths. To survive and find each other, they must uncover the truth behind the maze—a place that tests not only their endurance but also their sanity.
