“Primate” (2025) is a horror thriller about a young woman who returns to her family home to spend the weekend with her friends. What begins as a peaceful getaway turns into a desperate fight for survival when the family’s pet chimpanzee, who has been part of their lives for years, becomes infected with rabies and turns into a deadly threat.

What is the movie “Primate” about?

After finishing college, Lucy returns to her parents’ home. Together with her friends, she hopes to relax and revisit the memories of her childhood. It is a place filled with nostalgia, where she grew up alongside a chimpanzee that had become a true member of the family. Once intelligent and gentle, the animal had always been Lucy’s loyal companion, but everything changes.

After contracting rabies, the chimpanzee loses all control. It no longer recognizes the people it once trusted, driven only by aggression and primal instinct. The house that was meant to be a place of comfort becomes a deadly trap. Cut off from help, Lucy and her friends must find a way to survive. With every passing hour, the danger grows, and their struggle becomes increasingly desperate. One mistake could cost them everything, while their chances of making it out alive grow slimmer by the minute.
