What is the movie “Azrael” about?

Years after a mysterious catastrophe, the world has become a dangerous wilderness where only a few people have managed to survive. Azrael finds herself among a community that has abandoned speech. Its members communicate through gestures and looks, believing that silence is the only way to survive.

Behind these rules lies not only fear but also fanatical faith. The members of the community believe that blood sacrifices will help them find salvation from an ancient evil, so they kidnap Azrael’s lover to use him as a sacrifice. Azrael refuses to accept their rules and tries to break free from their control, but freedom turns into a fight for survival.

In the wilderness, she is hunted by more than just the fanatics. Unknown creatures lurk among the ruins and dense forests, drawn to the presence of humans. Azrael is forced to move almost silently to stay alive.

When the community finds Azrael again and prepares her for sacrifice, she decides to stop obeying and confront the horror behind their faith.
