“Shotgun Wedding” (2022) is a romantic comedy about a destination wedding on a tropical island that spirals completely out of control. Darcy and Tom are planning the perfect ceremony, but the preparations turn into chaos because of their guests. The situation changes dramatically when pirates attack the island and take everyone hostage—except the bride and groom.

Darcy and Tom choose a tropical island for their wedding. Tom sees it as a perfectly planned ceremony down to the smallest detail. Darcy, however, views this “paradise fairytale” more as a challenge than a romantic adventure.

When their families arrive on the island, everything immediately goes off track. Two completely different worlds collide in one place. Instead of calm preparations, constant arguments, misunderstandings, and small conflicts begin to build up.

As if that weren’t enough, pirates storm the island. The wedding suddenly turns into a hostage situation, and the festive atmosphere disappears within seconds. Darcy and Tom are the only ones who are not captured.

Now the bride and groom must team up to save their families. But even in this situation, they struggle to put aside their own disagreements.
