“Alpha” (2025) is a dark sci-fi thriller about a 13-year-old girl growing up in a world gripped by a mysterious deadly epidemic that slowly turns people into living stone statues. Alpha gradually becomes part of events where fear and uncertainty turn into everyday reality.
What is the movie “Alpha” about?
The story takes place in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The world is slowly falling into panic due to a strange disease whose nature no one fully understands. Infected people gradually lose control over their bodies, freezing in disturbing poses as if turning into stone monuments of themselves.
At the center of the story is 13-year-old Alpha, who lives with her mother, a doctor. While adults try to find an explanation for the epidemic, the girl watches as fear and helplessness slowly change everyone around her. She is especially affected by the condition of her uncle Amin, who due to drug addiction has already become one of the victims of the mysterious illness.
After a teenage party, however, the situation becomes even more alarming. During an improvised tattoo session, Alpha may have been infected with an unknown virus, and her loved ones begin noticing disturbing changes. The atmosphere of fear, isolation, and uncertainty intensifies as it becomes clear that there is almost no time left to find answers.
