What is “Firebrand” about?

Tudor England is an era of blood and intrigue. Katherine Parr (Vikander) is appointed regent and mentor to the future Queen Elizabeth while the king wages wars abroad. Marrying a monarch who has executed his two previous wives is like playing with fire. When Henry returns home, even more ill and paranoid, Katherine is forced to fight for her survival.
The constant fears of conspiracy hunt the King, and he hunts down radical Protestants, one of whom is secretly his wife. When her childhood friend is burned at the stake, Katherine finds herself on the brink of death, and no one can be sure that her husband will not suspect his next wife of treason.
