While Riley was still a child in the first part, we met her fictional friend and watched the development of her relationship with her parents and the story of her first crush. Now, our main character is a teenager. This means she is discovering new emotions and feelings she hadn't experienced before.

In the story “Inside Out 2”, five emotions live in Riley's head, represented by cute and funny characters - joy and anger, fear, sadness and disgust. They observe the outside world through Riley's eyes and take the remote control when they think their emotion is the best for the girl. In the first Inside Out cartoon, the characters finally find a common language and learn to get along, but Riley grows up and one day a new emotion appears in her head - anxiety. Why does she need it? What if it ruins everything? And, most importantly, what if she's not the last new resident and more will follow?
