Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers were wounded during the Russian-Ukrainian war. Someone had severe contusions. Others were left without arms or legs. And some have lost their sight.
Vladyslav Yeschenko comes from Horlivka in Donetsk region. War came to his home back in 2014, when he was a teenager. Then the boy moved with his father to the territories controlled by Ukraine. They left home and business in order to live. Already in 8 years, the war will return to their lives again. Vladyslav will deceive his relatives and join the army. He will serve as a sapper for the next 5 months. Until mine explodes on August 9, 2022 near Bakhmut. He will be cut by fragments, he will lose his sense of smell, he will almost go deaf. But the most important thing is that he will lose his sight. Vlad will undergo long-term treatment. He will fall into despair, ask his family and friends to leave him. But they won't. They will help him return. They will want to see the same Vlad they knew before the war. They will do everything so that he wants to live. All so that he could see the Victory.
