The documentary, created by the Memorial platform. Vova was born in Luhansk. Together with his sister, his mother raised him alone. He grew up an ardent fighter for justice. While studying at the Irpin Tax Academy, the only one in the platoon did not allow the commander to impersonate one of the cadets, placing the blame on her for a violation he had committed himself.
In 2014, he left his studies because of the same desire to fight injustice. He rushed to his native Luhansk, which pro-Russian militants were trying to capture. For his pro-Ukrainian views, he ended up in the basement of the separatists. His father, who supports Russia, helped free Vova from there. Vova was never able to forgive him for this.
When he asked his son not to join the resistance, Vova wrote him a long message: "Luhansk was sold by pro-Russian scoundrels who were then in power, and cowards like you. I love Ukraine and my freedom, and I am ready to die for it. There are millions of us and we are fighting for our land and our families. Therefore, we will not be defeated... We will not give up. And you are the traitor that you were back in 2014. Glory to Ukraine!". They didn't talk anymore...
On February 24, Vova again defended the country. Defended Kyiv. Then he transferred to "Azov" Teroborona. When the Main Directorate of Intelligence developed a special operation to deliver aid to the defenders of Mariupol by helicopter, Vova immediately signed up for the list of those willing to fly to Azovstal. Although he knew that he might not return from there...
