The vehicle turns out to be an injured Optimus Prime, who is hiding after being hunted down. Cade, along with his daughter Tessa and her boyfriend Shane, finds himself in danger when people begin pursuing them in an attempt to discover the Autobot’s whereabouts.

Cade gradually learns that a much larger plan lies behind the hunt for the Transformers. Humanity is using Transformer technology in its own developments, unaware that it is also awakening an ancient threat.
