What is the series "Chernobyl" about?

The miniseries “Chernobyl” was created and written by Craig Mazin and directed by Eugene Rank. It focuses on the filmed stories of the survivors of the explosion at the country's largest power plant, as well as people who held leadership positions. Most of the plot of the mini-series is based on the memoirs of Pripyat residents, which are described in Svitlana Aleksiyevych's book “Chernobyl Prayers”.
The series tells the story of three real people who tried to save lives after the explosion: Soviet nuclear physicist Ulyana Khomyuk, one of the heads of the State Commission for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Chornobyl Disaster Valery Legasov, and Soviet Deputy Prime Minister Boris Shcherbyn.
