«Early Swallows» (2019) — a Ukrainian teen thriller about a group of Kyiv high school students whose lives change after a tragic incident at their school. As the police try to uncover what happened, the students and their parents are forced to confront secrets that have remained hidden for years.

What is the series «Early Swallows» about?

An ordinary school day ends in tragedy, after which the familiar world of the high school students begins to fall apart. The police launch an investigation, while parents and teachers try to understand what could have led to an incident that has now become the talk of the entire school.

At the center of the story are several high school students who, at first glance, seem to be living perfectly ordinary lives. Each of them has their own problems, fears, conflicts with their parents, and relationships that adults would rather not know about. Friends, couples, and classmates gradually turn out to be connected much more closely than it initially seems.

As the investigation progresses, new details come to light, revealing what has been hidden behind the façade of a seemingly well-functioning school. What first appears to be a collection of separate teenage stories gradually comes together into one disturbing picture. And the closer the characters get to the truth, the more questions arise — not only about the students, but also about the adults around them.
